3 Year Old Manasa needs YOUR help, NOW

We have received a request from a desperate, desolate parent of a three year old child in Hyderabad, India needing expensive hospitalization and treatment. The child, Manasa, has been diagnosed as suffering from Prolonged Respiratory Ailment. The cure for this is a long drawn treatment in an ICU. Manasa’s father Rajagopal works as an Assistant Manager in GE Money. Mustering all resources and taking hand loans from friends, he has already spent about Rs 30 lakhs over the last few months. He has now reached the end of the road. His medical bills work out to about Rs 15,000 PER DAY (about USD 350). The money required is huge to the extent of Rs 18,00,000. (about USD 40,000). He cannot proceed further with treatment and save his baby unless he receives help. If you would kindly take a step forward and offer your assistance to help him, we would all have together saved Manasa’s flickering life.

We urge you to go through the note sent by him, which is reproduced below. We hope that Manasa will touch your heart and you will be moved to offer help to Rajagopal.

We know that many of you had spontaneously responded and contributed generously to our appeal a few months ago for the heart surgery of 6 year old Hemalatha in Chennai. We appreciate that you too could be facing constraints in coming forth with more funds. However, may I request you to kindly explore the possibility of passing on this request to your circle of friends? Also, if you know of any other options to help Rajagopal, please advise us.( eg, if you know of some NGO or Association whose main objective is to render such help). Above all, keep Manasa in your prayers, for with God, nothing is impossible.

No amount is too small. On hearing from you, we shall confirm the modalities of payment. You may mail us at rescuefoundation@gmail.com .

We normally recommend that donations be sent directly to the Hospital providing the treatment. This will erase any doubt on the proper utilization of funds offered. We shall obtain details for such direct payments to the hospital once we hear from you.

If you would rather directly interact with Rajagopal, you could use your discretion on this. Mr. Rajagopal’s appeal, which is reproduced below, has his address and email:

An Appeal

I am the father of a 3-year-old girl child, named I.V. Subhadra Manasa, who has been getting the medical treat in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of the Rainbow Children Hospital, Banjara Hills, previously, and in the Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda, currently, since September 2008.

She has been diagnosed with a PROLONGED RESPIRATORY AILMENT, caused due to Respiratory Muscle Weakness, because of which she has been on CONSTANT OXYGEN SUPPLY, since September 2008. The Doctors are hopeful that she would eventually come out of this situation with the continued treatment.

Since September 2008, she was required to be kept in the Intensive Care Units, due to the prevalent medical condition. She has been requiring constant medical treatment, which has been very expensive up to INR 15000 /- (Fifteen Thousand Rupees) on an average, every day.

We have already spent an amount close to INR 30, 00,000 /- (Thirty Lakhs) towards her treatment. I met this expense partly by utilizing the entire insurance amount, INR 4,00,000/- (Four Lakhs) that I was eligible for, some through the support that I got from my family, friends and the Organization that I am working with, INR 7, 00,000 (Seven Lakhs) of it,most of it through the loans INR 12, 00,000 (Twelve Lakhs) that I have incurred from the Bank, Credit Card and friends, and the remaining INR 7, 00,000 ( Seven Lakhs) from everything that we had saved earlier.

We have reached a stage where we are left with almost no financial capability to meet the incurring medical expenses, and are looking for financial help in getting our 3- year-old child, treated.

The Doctors are suggesting that my child would require treatment at least for another 3 - 4 months, in the Hospital.

I pray that no parent should be in the situation that we are in, and hope that the Almighty gives everyone the Health and Prosperity.

My Daughter’s life is your hands. Please save her.

Regards,

Rajagopal Indurthi.

Hemalatha's Surgery - an update

June 4th 2009

Doctors at Madras Medical Mission Hospital conducted a series of tests and concluded that Hemalatha was still too weak to undergo surgery. She has been prescribed further medication and the surgery has been rescheduled for 9th June 2009. Let us hope and pray that she improves and undergoes surgery in a week from now.

May 28th 2009

A BIG

THANK YOU

for helping little Hemalatha?

We are happy to inform that the Madras Medical Mission has fixed the date for Hemalatha’s surgery on 4th June 2009. Please keep little Hemalatha in your prayers.

Statistically, it would be interesting to note that out of the large number of people that we had approached (over 300), only 4% responded with their donation. We truly admire the small fraction who chose to think beyond self – a rare quality which is sure to draw God’s attention and reward. We earnestly pray that the number of such people increases. Selflessness is the only way to be in the shadow of God’s protective grace and love.

A small gap of Rs 7,000 still remains. We hope to bridge it soon. If you are inclined to make a contribution, please email us and we will be pleased to co-ordinate with the Hospital.

We sincerely thank the donors for their selfless, kindhearted and generous donation without which, the surgery would not have been a reality.

We also wish to place on record our appreciation of the pioneering efforts of Mr. Sairaman and Mr. R.G.Subramanian in bringing Hemalatha’s case to the attention of all of us. Both of them are extremely busy senior professionals and their noble action is certainly exemplary and inspiring to all of us.

Other Needs

I. Medical Emergency Aid

II. Forthcoming Year's Schooling Needs

I. Emergency Medical Aid:

We often receive urgent requests for help for those who are hospitalized and cannot afford expensive treatment. The Rescue Foundation has, in the past, received tremendous support from many in such deserving cases. If you are inclined to help in such exigencies, please email us. Please indicate the amount you are willing to earmark in a year, the maximum amount you are willling to release at a time and the lead time required to release the same. We will record your kind offer and utilize it as and when the need arises. No amount is too small or large. We have, in the past, collected donations ranging from as little as Rs 500 to as much as Rs 2 lakhs at a time from individuals.

We ensure that all donations are directly sent to the hospital from the donor.

Enjoy the joyous experience of sharing. Send your email today.

II. Forthcoming Year's Schooling Needs:

Thanks to the tremendous support from friends like you, fourteen young boys and girls received schooling this year. All these children are from very poor families whose daily meal itself is a challenge, education being a distant dream. Through your generosity, these children now have hope for a better future.

Some of these children are particularly very brilliant and, with the right support and encouragement, they are sure to make a good impact on society.

I know some very successful businessmen and professionals (who started life as slum dwellers or rickshaw pullers) and have used their success to inspire others and contribute a lot to many needy persons. They have realized and are implementing that great gift of God - the joy of sharing. The Rescue Foundation firmly believes that it is only in sharing that we can get richer and happier. The Foundation would like to play the humble role of a catalyst between those who have and those in need.

The amounts needed are not huge. For example, with a small donation of Rs 200/- per month (about US$ 4) one child gets primary education in an English medium school in Hyderabad which caters mainly to the poor.

This year too, I look forward to your support and patronage. May I urge you to make a contribution to this cause?

Sincerely,

The Rescue Foundation
